Comeuppance Can’t Come Too Soon

Life without the former guy — at first I didn’t like the phrase, it seemed too benign for the horrors we’d endured, but I’ve come to love it for its subversive lower case ordinariness, and because Biden referring to him that way must enrage him — is nothing less than transcendent.

After four years of living 24/7 in hyper-vigilant warrior mode because who knew what he might do next, we are free to ignore him like we used to, back when he was just a national buffoon and not yet a global menace. We need pay no attention to the ridiculous Norman Desmond character he’s reduced himself to, forever replaying his Greatest Grievances. He can’t hurt us now, he can only hurt the enemy, which he is delightfully determined to do. “Brian Kemp [is a] moron.” “No more money for RINOS.” “This dumb son-of-a-bitch Mitch McConnell.” As my new email signature exults, “OMG! Isn’t life just, like, SO MUCH BETTER NOW?!?!?

That he would be the Worst President Ever was a given before he was even elected, and was confirmed even before his post-defeat sedition by his grotesque complicity in the preventable deaths…
